Pedagogy Fellows Program
Pedagogy Fellows Updates
We are not currently running a Pedagogy Fellows Program cycle. Stay tuned for updates on future opportunities. If you are a trainee at MSM or HMS interested in pedagogy training or other teaching opportunities within MAHPING, please reach out to Dr. Tan or Dr. Benveniste (or express interest via the "Get Involved" form on this website).
Launched in 2022, the MAHPING Pedagogy Fellows Program is an innovative professional development opportunity for graduate and postdoctoral trainees at HMS and MSM to gain theoretical and applied knowledge of evidence-based, inclusive teaching practices. The cohort of Pedagogy Fellows - comprised of trainees from both HMS and MSM - attend an in-person teaching retreat and pedagogy workshop held either in Boston or Atlanta during the spring and apply their knowledge from the teaching workshop to collaboratively develop a short "nanocourse" that they will teach at both HMS and MSM the following fall.
Upon completion of the program, Fellows will have greater competency in evidence-based, inclusive teaching practices and an expanded scientific and mentorship network resulting from interactions with faculty and trainees at both HMS and MSM. The professional development opportunities offered by the MAHPING Pedagogy Fellows Program will further equip trainees to become leaders in their fields. Fellows receive funding to cover all travel expenses.
The MAHPING Pedagogy Fellows Program is funded by the Simons Foundation and the HMS Dean's Innovation Awards in Diversity and Inclusion.

The Pedagogy Fellows applied their knowledge from the workshop to design a new, 3-day nanocourse that was offered at MSM on September 21-23, 2022 and was offered at HMS on Nov. 2-4, 2022. (More information about the HMS course is available on the Nanocourses page.)
